Yeşim Özsoy (b. 28 February 1972) Actress
She was born in Istanbul. She graduated from Robert College and then Boğaziçi University, Department of Sociology. She joined the Studio Players during his university years.
Yeşim Özsoy then went to the USA for education and took acting, theater theory and directing classes at Columbia University, Sarah Lawrence College and North Western University.
She returned to Turkey for sure in October 2001 and then founded the "Ve Other Things" theater company. Yeşim Özsoy is also the founder of the performance venue GalataPerform, which was opened in 2003.
Özsoy's play "Aksak Istanbul Stories", who has directed and staged most of the 12 plays she wrote since 2001, received the "Fehmi Başkut Special Award", the most important award in the field of playwriting, at the Afife Awards in 2006.
Yeşim Özsoy, who has acted in many theater plays both in Turkey and abroad, has recently appeared on the stage in many important international festivals, especially the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, in the one-man play "The House of the Century" between 2018 - 2020.
Yeşim Özsoy lastly played as a guest actress in the TV series "Kırmızı Oda" in 2021.
