Mert Dinçer was born in Hamburg, Germany. Mert Dinçer, who studied aeronautical engineering at Hochschule für Angewandte (HAW), started to study acting at the age of 8 in Hamburg “New Talent”. He took his first steps into professional acting in 2014 by playing the leading role in Germany's popular TV series "Tatort - Die Feigheit des Löwen" and then in another episode of the series "Tatort - Borowski und die Kinder von Gaarden".
Some of the films he starred in are “Nachtschicht – Ladies First”, “Unter Gauner”, “Helen Dorn - Gefahr im Verzug”, “Die Opfer - Vergesst mich nicht (Second Part)”, “Bella Block - Am Abgrund, Pfefferkörner - Hausbot in Not”, “Willkommen bei den Hartmann´s and “König der Raben”.
He was also awarded The Woods Hole Film Festival - Most Promising Actor in the movie "Zoros Solo" in which he played the leading role.
