Uğur Baran was born on August 7, 1987 in Izmir.
After graduating from Dokuz Eylul University (Business Administration), he was accepted to the Acting Department of Beykent University Fine Arts Faculty. He started working at DOT Theater in the same period. He worked as an assistant director in many theater plays and as well an actor in the plays called "Dövüş Gecesi” and “Bırak İçeri Gireyim”. He was in the cast of a play called "Stupid Fucking Bird" in Kadıköy Theatron.
He also starred in the movie "Dedemin İnsanları” and the TV series “Arka Sokaklar” and "Hekimoğlu".
Uğur Baran also received the Special Jury Award at the TAKEV Short Film Competition with the short film "Madalyon", and the "Kerem Yılmazer Young Talent Prize” at the XI. Direklerarası Theater Awards.
